Having exhausted much of her life in northern California.

Having exhausted much of her life in northern California, Eunice Olson has been drawn to depicting the natural world in her art. She is inspired by means of spacious, panoramic views of rivers, the close-up bend of a clay pot or the reddish peel of a ripe pomegranate.

"My delight in of color was encouraged and nurtur at my first watercolor teacher," she said. "He taught me to descry the subtleties in light and shadow, the variations all around us." She accomplishes this in her intimate still lifes and almost abstract views of plants." My goal is to create dazzling, juicy watercolors that enchant the viewer," she said." I want to share a sweet summer evening, a quiet, sunlit moment"

In addition to obtaining her bachelor's grade in arts from California State University, Olson has worked for more than 20 years in the graphics industry as a managing editor, production manager, graphic designer, illustrator and production artist, among other positions. She lives in Sacramento, Calif., and can be reached at (916) 451-3629 or emolson47@hotmail.com. Her work can be viewed at www.eunicemolson.com.
