Brown Barn Publishing portray by actions artists Alexander Volkov and Ton Dubbeldam.
"There is no greater mystery to me than the conflict of light and dark," said artist Alexander Volkov "The way they penetrate each other is the source of everything. Whether I paint a landscape, a still life or a portrait, within it there is always a story of light traveling between the sides of darkness." He merges mood and atmosphere, evoking powerful emotions that create harmony. Reluctantly, he calls himself a "self-taught" artist. "We really teach ourselves. If you want to learn, you will always find someone to learn from, be they dead or alive, great or unknown. You will learn from everything you diocese and hear around you--if you are willing to pay attention."
It is remarkable to behold that the Dutch painter Ton Dubbeldam ofttimes chooses themes that beautifully draw near together with his impressionistic and pointillist techniques. Dubbeldam's paintings in oil, combined with thirsty pastel, and sometimes using spotting and dripping techniques, will make you associate his work with various art forms and different periods of time.
