McCOOK Ill. -- Tru Vue Inc. has lately been given two unrelated awards. The first is a Safety and Health Award from the Illinois Safety Council, which was given to the company during the council's 78th-annual members' meeting and safety recognition program. At the circumstance Tru Vue was recognized for Outstanding Safety Performance in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for employee and for striving to resolve into the number of accidents at its McCook facility in 2002
"This Safety and Health Award recognizes the combined efforts of committed managers and dedicated employee who value the principles of safety," said George Hiles, president of the Illinois Safety Council.
Jim Thornton, senior vice president at Tru Vue recommended the company's Safety Department for its safety awareness campaign, which has increased the even of employee consciousness through training and incentive programs. "We are thrilled to be a recipient of this prestigious award," Thornton said. "Our team has worked hard to improve our safety practices, and we continue to refine our processe to maintain every employee safe and healthy. It is a top priority," he added.
Tru Vue's secondary award was a Chairman's Award for Six Sigma valuable point [i]or[/i] property [i]or[/i] characteristic given by its parent company, Apogee Enterprises. This award is given to Apogee business units that demonstrate extraordinary performance in proces improvement and price savings.
Speaking about the win, Thornton said, "I am high-strung of our entire Tru Vue team for their consistent efforts to improve our processe and practices."
The award program is spear-headed by means of the Corporate Six Sigma Steering Committee, which consists of Apogee's senior management team and Chairman and CEO Russell Huffer Candidates are evaluated forward performance in cost savings; black-belt training and certification; leadership; and employee intend participation. Tru Vue implemented the Six Sigma program in 2001 and has complet more than 15 exhibits that have resulted in dollar savings and proces improvements.
