SAN JOSE Calif. -- Dutch-born artist Andre Balyon has released the first appoint of paintings in his Painted Portrait of America[TM] series, a collection of 200 original oil paintings depicting American landscapes and landmarks. The collection will include four paintings for each of the 50 states created and released from one side of to the other the next five years.
"A Painted Portrait of America is the realization of a dream for me" said Balyon, who has exhibited his original oils everywhere the United States, Europe and Japan during his 35-year career. "My goal is to capture the essential part and beauty of America 'from sea to shining sea."
C2C Publishing is offering hand-signed, limited-edition giclees in succession canvas of Balyon's work. The first eight paintings, with couple each representing the states of California, Arizona, Massachusetts and Hawaii, are now available. "The nearest eight paintings will be released in late summer with a total of 40 scheduled for each year for the nearest five years," said Bob Challinor, coo of C2C
"Most paintings will be exhibited in more than one size, unless total edition sizes will be kept below 1000" added C2C President Tim Guster. "We believe this devise will generate a great deal of interest among art buyer at a time when many Americans are rediscovering the greatness of this country"
Balyon's paintings and stories of his travels will be chronicled onward the Web site www.andrebalyon.com. "Andre's stories will add to the excitement, encouraging go [i]or[/i] come back visits to the Web site," said Guster.
C2C will also be donating prints to governmental, educational and charitable organizations. The original paintings will be retained and exhibited.
