At the late sale of photographs from the Seagram collection at Phillips de Pury & Luxembourg, 350 of the haps offered sold, bringing in a total of $24 million. Top division was William Eggleston's "14 Pictures," which sold for $160000 (est $100000 to $150000) followed by the agency of Walker Evans' "Main Street, Saratoga Springs, fresh York," which sold for $85000 (ext $40000 to $60000) A not many suprises were also in the mix; Karl Strauss' "The City of Dreams" fetched more than seven times its high estimate at $62140 (est $6000 to $8000) while Robert Frank's "Cover Car--Long Beach, Calif.," garnered $54970 (est $5000 to $7000)
